Immune Nutrition Study

Immune Nutrition Study

FURST PROTECT™ is a nutritional supplement, providing essential fatty acids that play a critical role in supporting development of the gut, immune system and other physiological needs.

Increasingly, research is taking place to better understand how nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids support the needs of the immune system. Fatty acids and monoglycerides are abundant in milk for infants (Hanus et al. 2018) and seen as part of the innate immune system. Gussem et al. (2020) vaccinated chickens for infectious bronchitis (a viral disease) that were either fed a control diet, or a diet supplemented with monoglycerides of fatty acids, and the results showed an improved immune response by the birds having access to the nutrients they needed during this process of acquiring immunity, Table 1.
